Spotting fake admins and copycat channels
The most common scam in this industry is not a bad signal. It is someone pretending to be us in your DMs. Here is exactly how it works and the one rule that defeats it.
The one rule
We never message you first, and we never ask for money or your MT5 password. All support happens on this site, in tickets. If a Telegram account writes to you claiming to be XAUPROOF support, admin, manager or 'account verifier', it is not us. No exceptions, no urgent cases, no special offers.
How impersonation works
- A member joins the channel. Public channels leak member lists; private ones leak through forwarded messages and screenshots.
- An account with our name and logo (sometimes a near-identical username with an extra letter) DMs the member: 'Your verification is incomplete', 'You qualify for a premium tier', 'Your account needs to be re-linked'.
- The ask: a payment, a wallet address, an investor password, or a deposit to a different broker link — theirs, not ours.
- By the time the member checks, the money is gone and the fake account is deleted.
Tells
- Any DM at all. We do not DM.
- A username that is not exactly the one printed on this site. Check the letters one by one.
- Urgency and secrecy: 'within 24 hours', 'do not share this offer'.
- Payment requests of any kind. We have no product to sell you.
- Broker links that do not start from this site.
Copycat channels
Some channels repost our signals under another name, sometimes with edited numbers or a paid tier. The tell is simple: they cannot show a live account, a full history with losses and withdrawals, or a nightly audit line. The record on this site is the only source; the numbered signals let you check any repost against it.
